About J&M Automotive
Our Story
Almost every year, around tax time, we write a check to Uncle Sam. While we are grateful that this means we are doing well in our professions, we always wondered what else we could be doing to diversify our income and investment streams. In May of 2023, we decided to look at purchasing more property, and engaged a good friend to ‘just keep an ear out.’ Not 2 weeks later, our agent said there was an automotive shop in North Fort Collins that was going to be a quiet sale and if we might be interested in checking it out. We figured, why not, won’t hurt to go look. After the initial walk through, the wheels started turning and we realized this would be an amazing opportunity to not only own commercial property, but also be able to work for ourselves and Oliver could be his own boss.
`Through every tough moment of the loan process, the back and forth with agents and other parties, we just knew we had to keep going and see if we could make it work. I didn’t want to be sitting in our rockers, old and gray, and thinking ‘What if…’ We closed on the property and business September 13th, and opened our doors the following Monday, September 18th. I will say that during every conversation about if this was the right move, or any time we weren’t quite sure what we were doing, a Swallowtail Butterfly would flutter by and I just knew that we would be successful. Thank you for reading this far if you’ve made it, we look forward to servicing your automobiles for the foreseeable future with J&M Precision Automotive.

Meet Our Team

Oliver
Oliver started his mechanic career at The Carriage Shop while still in high school at Poudre, moving on to European Motor Cars and then took a little break from wrenching in 2002. He later started as the sole mechanic with a small single bay shop off Mulberry. This organization grew into the Mr. Mechanic shop off North College. He was the lead mechanic there for over 15 years, mainly focusing on VW Vanagons. When 2020 hit, he decided he wanted a change. He then moved to the Mercedes of Loveland dealership and was there for a year and a half. European Motors approached him again, with the opportunity to work back in Fort Collins for a shop close to home and focused on the kind of cars he loves to work on. He was consistently the top producer in that shop.

Lindsey
Lindsey started in the banking world in 2008 (what great timing…) at the downtown Fort Collins US Bank. She then worked her way up to become a Small Business Specialist and ultimately a commercial loan officer. She spent about 6 years with Bank of Colorado, and is now back in Fort Collins full time with Elevations Credit Union as a Senior Business Banking Relationship Manager. She is supporting J & M Precision from afar, but happy to help as needed.

Jamie
Jamie was born in Loveland CO and raised throughout Larimer County, ending up in Oregon after High School. She returned to CO in Aug of 2012 where she started her career in the automotive field. Initially with Napa in Estes Park, and service advising was the next step with 2 years at European Motors, where she and Oliver worked together. Jamie has twin 15 year old boys who are the love of her life. Her passion began with American muscle cars and her dream is to get her Chevy Nova back someday. She is passionate about helping her clients understand the repair process, without any unexpected surprises.
